Rule of Rose is a psychological horror trip that trades jump scares for a suffocating, surreal sense of dread. Set in 1930s England, you play as Jennifer, a young woman trapped in a nightmarish hierarchy ruled by a sadistic group of children known as the Aristocracy of the Red Crayon. It is a deeply unsettling experience that leans into themes of trauma and childhood cruelty, forcing you to navigate a crumbling orphanage and a decaying airship. While the combat is clunky and intentionally vulnerable, the game’s true power lies in its haunting atmosphere and its ability to make you feel truly alone in a world gone wrong.
