Xenogears

Xenogears is a sprawling, ambitious JRPG that refuses to play it safe. It drops you into a dense, futuristic world where ancient mechs known as Gears are unearthed to fuel endless wars. You follow Fei Fong Wong, a protagonist haunted by amnesia and a tragic past, as he gets dragged into a massive, multi-layered conspiracy. It is a wild, philosophical ride that blends Gnostic theology, psychological trauma, and high-stakes sci-fi. While it is notoriously long and occasionally feels like it is bursting at the seams, its sheer narrative scope and willingness to tackle heavy, complex themes make it a legendary, if divisive, cult classic.
