Players step into the shoes of the Postal Dude as he wanders into the town of Catharsis, engaging in a series of missions defined by crude satire and aggressive tastelessness. Built on the Source engine, the game attempts to blend open-world aspirations with linear combat, though it is best remembered for its technical instability, clunky mechanics, and a relentless commitment to being as offensive as possible. It is a chaotic, polarizing relic that eventually became a cautionary tale of development gone wrong.
